Barcelona striker Robert Lewandoski became the first player to score 10 goals in a single season for three different teams in the history of the UEFA Champions League.
The Polish forward scored a brace for Barcelona in the 4-0 win over Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash.
He has now scored 11 goals in 11 appearances for Barcelona in the competition this season, to sit second behind his Barcelona teammate, Raphinha, who has scored 12 goals in 11 matches.
Lewandoski also scored 10 goals or more for Dortmund, Bayern Munich in different seasons to own the record.
Additionally, Raphinha, and Lewandoski became the first Barcelona duo to hit double digits in a Champions League season since Messi, and Neymar in the 2014-15 a season that ended with treble.
Barcelona are still on course for a treble this season as they lead the La Liga log, they are already in the final of the Copa dey Rey, and they are one step closer to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Lewandoski has enjoyed a prolific season for Barcelona, hitting the 40-goal mark for the eighth time in his storied career.
He has been a key player in a Barcelona team that are the top scorers in the Champions League with 36 goals, alongside the duo of Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha they have became a threat to teams in Europe.
Barcelona coach, Hansi Flick was full of praise for the trio of Robert Lewandoski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal after the Dortmund game.
He said: “Our three guys up front are terrific and very important but so is our defence… and our guys who come off the bench and somehow manage to hit the same performance level as the players they replace.
“We are not through yet. Winning by this many goals is important and, when a team plays as well as that, goals normally do flow.
“We aren’t thinking we are through because you simply never know what might happen. Football is madness. We will be determined to play like this again next week.”
Barcelona’s trio of Robert Lewandoski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal are leading the club’s quest for treble this season with impressive performances.
Lewandoski has scored 40 goals with three assists, while Raphinha has notched 28 goals with 22 assists, and Yamal has scored 14 goals with 21 assists in all competitions this season for Barcelona.
Up next for Barcelona is an away clash against Leganes in La Liga before returning for the second leg against Dortmund on Tuesday.
