Popular Nigerian activist and comedian, Mr. Macaroni, has condemned the rising cases of violence and injustice in the country, calling on the government to take immediate action.
It was reported that more than 44 farm settlements, known as ‘Ndiagu’, have been overrun by herdsmen, with residents fleeing their homes to seek shelter in neighbouring communities.
The affected communities include Abor Ishala, Mgbuji, Agu-Amede, Eha-Agu, and Umuhu. All in Enugu State.
In a passionate social media post, he emphasized the need for justice and warned against the consequences of government inaction.
“Evil like this should be condemned by all!! Not only that, Government must also swing into action and show that there is zero tolerance for this sort of barbarism!!! When the Government is quiet, the people feel the need to protect their lives and properties by themselves, which only escalates issues and leads to the loss of other innocent lives. Injustice is injustice! It doesn’t matter where it happens. North, East, South, or West, we must always speak against it. No person, group, or tribe is superior to another!!! All rights must be respected!!!!.”
His statement comes amid growing concerns over insecurity, extrajudicial killings, and ethnic clashes in different parts of Nigeria.
Many Nigerians have expressed frustration over the government’s perceived lack of decisive action to curb violence, leading to increased cases of mob justice and self-defense measures.
