There have been several questions concerning the Australian Drop Bear and most people are eager to know if the creature is real or fake.

Well, sorry to break it to you. The Australian Drop Bear is fake, not real. Most of the stories you have also heard about the creature are false. They don’t exist.

What is a Drop Bear?

The Drop Bear is believed to be a large, predatory, and carnivorous version of the Koala.

They are also believed to live in the treetops and drop on their prey including humans.

Most of the stories shared say they have sharp teeth and claws.

That’s scary right?…….. I know.……………….. It’s such a relief they are not real.……

The Drop Bear Myth

You know the way our parents and grandparents tell us scary stories about traditions and animals that lived a long time ago, that’s the same way the myth of the Drop Bear began.

What the Australians did was, they played pranks on visitors by telling stories about the Drop bear. Well, most of the stories are always exaggerated to put fear in the minds of tourists.

Are Drop Bears Real?

There is no proof that drop bears exist. Most of the videos on YouTube and stories about the existence of Drop bears are all false.

There is also no backing in official wildlife records that they exist.

Note that, Drop Bears are not Koalas. They just have a resemblance. Koalas are herbivores and are no threat to humans.

The next time you visit Australia or you hear about the story of Drop Bears, just enjoy the story and laugh, knowing it’s all for fun.
