Bayelsa United recorded a stunning 3-0 win over Shooting Stars at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa on Friday in a matchday 33 clash of the 2024-25 NPFL season.

Ogba Ifeanyi ensured a perfect start for Bayelsa United with the opening goal in the 27th minute after catching the Shooting Stars unaware.
Five minutes before halftime, Magbisa Wisdom made it 2-0 to hand Ladan Bosso’s men a comfortable lead going into the break.
Shooting Stars struggled to provide answers to the questions posed by the hosts as they went behind shortly after the resumption of the second half.
One minute into the second half, Kehinde Lawal fired in a low effort to make it 3-0.
The victory extended Bayelsa United’s unbeaten run to seven matches which has seen them moved out of the relegation zone.
Bosso’s men jumped from 13th to ninth on the Nigeria Premier Football League table.
Meanwhile, The defeat is a dent on Shooting Stars’ hopes of securing a continental place as they currently sit in the fifth position on the log.
The remaining Matchday 33 fixtures will be played on Sunday with table-toppers Remo Stars in action against Katsina United in Ikenne, Enugu Rangers will take on Heartland in an Oriental derby at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
