27-year-old Nigerian Chef and Restaurateur, Hilda Effiong Baci who held the Guinness world record for marathon cooking in June 2023 has been dethroned by a chef from Ireland.
Hilda, who finished with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes, held on to her title for about 5 months before Chef Alan Fisher surpassed her with a time of 119 hours, 57 minutes.
The news was confirmed on the official page of Guinness World Records on X. They announced in a statement that the Irish Chef had broken 2 cooking-related records back-to-back, Hilda’s included.
According to them, he surpassed Hilda’s marathon cooking record with 24 hours and also claimed the title for longest baking record from former record holder, Wendy Sander. Alan reportedly finished with a time of 47 hours 21 minutes, 16 hours longer than Wendy’s.
Hilda, who cooked over 100 pots of food in a 4-day cooking stint also took to her social media to congratulate Chef Alan Fisher on his record-breaking achievements.
She described his win as ‘a huge achievement’ and captioned the post, ‘Huge Congratulations to Alan Fisher! 119 hrs 57mins is a huge achievement, and I wish him all the best as the new world record holder!’, on her X account.
